I am glad they did this, especially Malala. It is a slap in the face of fundamental islamics.
Just like when the pro-democracy gentleman from China got the prize. The Nobel committee told China what they thought of their policies. |

Right, but that means it's not so much the Nobel Peace Prize as the Nobel We-Like-Your-Political-Or-Cultural-Views Prize. And that's okay, but it's got little to do with "the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".
That said, even I'm less inclined to object than usual. Fighting for children's rights might not be strictly peace-related, but at least it's admirable and worthwhile. |

Malala, wise & articulate far beyond her 16 years, would argue that children's rights & especially education are the basic underpinnings of peace moving forward. Hard to argue with that.
She seems poised to make a life-long impact. |

She'd be wrong of course, as is evinced by the west continuing to launch disruptive wars of aggression in pursuit of it's own geopolitical interests despite a regime of children's rights and education. Not to say that children's rights and education are bad, of course. They're splendid. It's just that they've got demonstrably little to do with real peace. |

How does getting shot in the face qualify you for the Nobel price? A lot of people get shot in the face. |
