I'm having some personal financial problems at the moment and I am not sure if I am ready to go to Korea yet. Much of it is to do with me going a big broke with my savings running out. I want to have a bit of money saved before going out there so I am thinking of staying home and working for a while. I have other personal problems which are also preventing me from looking for work, but I don't want to discuss them with the recruiter.
The only problem is I am dealing with a very good recruiter and I don't want to break his trust. I am hoping to use him again in a month or so. He has already been working with me for a few months
Does anyone know are recruiters generally ok with people giving up for a while and coming back? Will they be less likely to commit to you in getting you a job when you come back to them?
I want to email them this without scaring them off too much
I heard of recruiters giving up on people for failing interviews, etc. |

I recommend just being honest and saying something has come up in your personal life, and that you need to delay your departure date by 1-2 months. Many recruiters are already hiring for February starts anyways. In the meantime, if you haven't already, get all your required visa documents in hand. Being able to demonstrate that you are ready to go on a moment's notice will make you a much more desirable candidate for recruiters. If this recruiter stops responding, no big loss. There are many out there that will assist you (should you qualify) once you have your visa documents in hand.
Best of luck! |

The recruiter does not care about you. He or she only cares about placing teachers at schools and getting paid. If you want a job that will start 2 or 3 or 4 months from now then just tell this recruiter (and as many other recruiters as you can find) about your desired start date. Make sure that you have ALL of your documents ready. The number one thing that will make them lose interest is your documents. They want to know that you will be ready to go when the time comes. That's all. |
