It's taking longer than expected to get my visa issuance number.

My wife and I submitted our documents, and they were received by our school about two weeks ago. On Tuesday morning, the school told us that immigration wanted a scan of our marriage certificate, as my wife's maiden name is printed on her diploma.

Does it normally take this long to process, or did my wife's diploma cause delays?

If the names on all the documents aren't matching, it will cause a hold up with immigration. I sent a copy of my marriage cert with my documents as my recruiter told me I needed to, because without it they have no way of knowing if the degree belongs to the person who owns the passport and CBC. Once they see your marriage cert there shouldn't be any problems.

OK, cool. Thanks for clearing that up. My school never mentioned the marriage certificate, but immigration only wanted to see a scanned copy.
