|
|
I have a 2 year contract at a uni, but Seoul immigration only gave me a single year E2 visa. I want to make sure I don't get f'ed in the a when it comes to renewing my visa, therefore could someone tell me which documents I will be required to submit? I submitted the business registration and numerous other documents for my current visa. Am I required to submit them all again?
Thanks for any replies. Last time when I was applying for the visa some of the posters on this site were a real life saver. I appreciated it then, and I appreciate it now. |

I need another member to verify this for me please, but I believe you can extend an E2 visa for an additional year if and only if you're staying with the same employer. I don't believe you have to submit another set of documents. You may only have to show them your contract with the new end date. Again, I'm not an expert, but I did exactly this in 2011 and it worked for me.

Get the university people to fill out all the forms for you. It is their responsibility to extend the E2 visa and not yours. Someone from the university will either have to go do it or at least go with you to get it done. (i.e. give you the paperwork to carry with you) They should be aware of the time it expires, but in case you have new people working at your handling station on campus, go to the person who does most of the communicating with you and tell them your questions. They should know or be able to find the information for you. Cheers |

Extension or transfer at the END of a contract are essentially the same.
ARC
passport
application
new contract (or multi-year contract) with end date clearly indicated.
employer's registration
employer's guarantee (sponsorship)
confirmation of residential address (determines jurisdiction of immigration office)
application form with appropriate boxes ticked and/or filled in
fees (60k for extension - 180k for transfer (change of employer)+extension).
IF you are trying to do a transfer during the contract period then you also need permission of the employer to seek/change employment (LOR).

@ttompatz should charge people for this kind of on demand information! Nice work as usual |

That info is easy to find. People on this board are too lazy to do it themselves. |
