There was an English Friends in Changwon City, but it closed about 4 years ago by selling out to a corporate company using the building as a day care. It was directed by a crook lady with the English name of, "Louise," who shorted pay regularly and often made a fuss out of foreign teachers embarrassing her while never providing any hands on solutions to problems nor showed support. They had a really good Kiwi head foreign teacher who was the glue of the school with his unusually strong karma and interpersonal skills.
EF is a typical franchise chain of independent academies though very few locations with turnover where they open and close often. The books such as English Time and Backpack series are the only thing any of them would have in common. One location can look like a cute smurf house and another like a modern office, but you can't judge a book by it's cover. I'd say ask to do a phone interview with the director, head teacher, and an English teacher to feel it out. |
