Why are my girl students saying this over and over when we do a listening exercise? I was thinking maybe it's a reference to Britney Spears, but that song is several years old...unless she's only now becoming big in Korea.

At least they stopped saying "Tell Me" all the time (it's been several months, in fact). Usually we adults are the last to catch on to a trend, but I think the kids are a few years late on this one.

During the like...2 minutes of free time one of my classes had today, half of the class just started singing/dancing to it. All it takes is one kid to mutter "baby one more time"or do the finger thing and everybody does it. One kid had it written in black marker alllll down his arms yesterday. They play it on their cellphones during break time. And they always come up to ask, "Teecha, you know...ONE MORE TIME?" I think this song is more annoying than Tell Me, actually.

i saw this song premiere on one of those music shows and just KNEW it was going to be the next t-t-t-tell me. can imagine a bunch of pony-tailed dudes sitting around an office working out what would be the best, most common english phrase to insert into bubblegum kpoop.

they've succeeded, i believe.

I feel bad for the students when they say it because I know they are referring to the Korean song, which is not nearly as good as Britney's song. Like it's not bad enough that they have to spend all day and all night at school, they also have to get their catchphrases from subpar popular entertainment. Sad

Ahhhh I remember this music from someone else a few years ago... but can't think of who!

It is a remix, not an original for sure!
