No, persecution is about right. It would appear that Mr. Holder, Obama and Sharpton ( Justice Dept.) couldn't pin ANYTHING on him and will not ( or cannot ) press any charges. The only thing he has been found guilty of is EXCEEDING THE SPEED LIMIT. But I am sure that there are posters who, in their wildest wet dreams, believe he is white and guilty of everything he has been charged with. Better luck next time. Razz

The mind rebels at the thought that every one of these instances was just a big misunderstanding.

If you cannot accept that merely being accused of a crime doesn't make you guilty, well, that's your problem. Like I said; better luck next time! Razz

Not being convicted of a crime does not make you innocent either.

Suggesting otherwise smacks of malicious obedience to the law.

He has gone to court but once, and he was found NOT GUILTY by a Jury of his PEERS. Any other incident was found to have no merit therefor NO CHARGE, although he was found guilty of exceeding the speed limit. Better luck next time Razz Oh, and by the way, he still has his concealed carry permit which can be revoked with out being convicted of a crime. Now, if the Police haven't found cause to revoke his permit, well......................

Indeed. As for what the press is saying about Zimmerman it was also the press who claimed that Zimmerman was a hulking brute of over 200 lbs while Trayvon was a frail teenager who maybe weighted 140 lbs soaking wet. They also portrayed him as a wannabe vigilante who maliciously hunted and gunned down Trayvon Martin.

When the true facts came out...it was clear that the press was guilty of gross exaggeration and in some instances outright lies to the extent three people lost their jobs because of it.

So yes I wouldn't put too much stock in what the press is claiming.

So was O.J. Simpson.

Therefore,

He didn't do it, either!

^ GZ did do it. He shot that kid dead. In Florida (and elsewhere) it is entirely legal to shot dead someone who is on top of you doing "ground and pound". TM brought fists and skittles to a gun fight. Now he's dead.

You know — now, mind you, I told you — I told Trayvon it might have been a rapist.

Ah this is funny. Martin thought Zimmerman was gay. He was beating up a gay (he thought) creepy ass cracker! If Zimmerman were black and Martin white the politics of this stupid story would be entirely different.

OJ went to court three times. Once he was found not guilty by Black jury. The next time it was different. A civil trial found him guilty of wrongful death. The last time he was also found to be guilty. You DO know where he presently resides, don't you?

Your logic carried out, kind of arrives at the conclusion that Zimmerman deserves to be persecuted because he squeaked out of being convicted. Another thing, the standards for civil trials are different than the standards for criminal trials. Civil trials, juries consider the preponderance of the evidence. Criminal trials (although sometimes nominally) a person must be considered guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by the jury.

It still irritates me that a guy like Zimmerman was bothering Trayvon Martin in the first place. If you suspect somebody call the police or leave them alone. It doesn't matter if after the fact that it's known that Martin had a gun that he toted or he smoked weed. If you don't know for sure that somebody is doing something wrong, then leave them alone, or call the police if you want to.

Zimmerman can't be tried in a civil court. If you are found to have killed in SELF DEFENCE you can't be sued, And if you have a problem with Zimmerman "bothering" Martin, no law was broken until Martin decided to assault another citizen. If you do not wish to be shot, DO NOT assault other people. One less thuglet---A GREAT THING!

He did call the police, and, by all accounts, he acted in good faith to comply with the dispatcher's advice.

There's various ways to interpret Zimmerman's post-trial encounters with the law: 1) he has a penchant for falling for insane women, 2) he has been less than stable for quite some time, or 3) the incredible stress of the trial was the catalyst for the change in his character that appears to now be on display. Even with the worst interpretation, that he has always been a loose cannon, nothing about the evidence and witness accounts of the trail has changed: not only was nothing credible presented to substantially challenge his account, but mountains of uncontradicted evidence was given to positively support his claims.

Though we clearly shouldn't let this negatively affect the sale of hoodie- and "hands up, don't shoot"-themed clothing and paraphernalia.

Victim of circumstance:

Quote:
George Zimmerman's Twitter account was suspended Thursday after he tweeted photographs of a topless woman he said was an ex along with what appeared to be her contact information.

Zimmerman wrote in one tweet that the woman pictured, who he called "Heather," cheated on him "with a dirty Muslim." The tweet included a phone number and the photograph showed her from the chest up. That tweet was captured by The Daily Dot:

As with everything else George Zimmerman, I'm sure this is all just a big misunderstanding.
