Quick question guys. I am going through Adventure Teaching at present, never been before. I have read good things but I was wondering two things. One; what's been everyone's experience of them if you've used them/heard of them? And 2-has anyone ever had to sign a 'liability waiver and realese' with an agency? I have to do so to proceed, is this standard practice? Seems to mainly be absolving Adventure Teaching of any blame if anything goes wrong whilst I'm there so I can't claim against them, just wondering if it affects other rights or if anyone has seen anything like this before?

It's just their way of saying, 'we are most likely going to put you into a crappy placement, and we want to make sure you don't want to take action against us when we place you in the shit hole we have planned for you.'

A new twist to unscrupulous recruiters finding ways to further screw people over regarding their actions and practices, all the while claiming they have done nothing wrong. A word of advice, if it feels strange in your gut when you are going through the process, trust your gut and get the hell out of Dodge before you are placed in a situation that will certainly make you wish you had never come to Korea.

Interesting. I actually got a good feeling talking to them and have read some positive reviews. But I wasn't sure about the waiver thing. What recruiters have you used?

So are you saying you have seen/heard of these waivers and their always a bad idea? I just thought these reviews looked good, I didn;t think it was possible to scam reviews such like this...I'll need to do further research.

You should be using a TON of recruiters, not just one, and, no, there's no need to let any single one know that you're using as many as you can find.

Have never used a recruiter and frankly don't see why they are needed. This isn't the 90's....there is a thing called the internet. Market yourself, do you think the school WANTS to pay $1000 to find someone to hire?

Can we get some more detail on what is in the liability waiver. A scan or the words in it?

I wonder were this waiver is enforced? Korea or home country of teacher.
