|
|
Apostille university diplomas and RCMP background checks seem to be the new norm for applying for jobs in Korea.
Unfortunately, I only have regular documents and I am not in Canada now.
Is there a way to make these documents "apostille" from abroad? |

Is this an immigration requirement or employer requirement? |

That's a good question. I don't know. I have just seen this requirement in the job postings on Dave's. |

For Korea they are an immigration requirement.
You cannot get an apostille on Canadian documents since Canada is not a signatory to the apostille treaty.
You need to have your documents certified by the Korean consulate in Canada.
If you need them authenticated for use elsewhere then more clarity in your question in regards to who and where the authentication is for would yield a more definitive answer re: how to authenticate your documents.

I wonder if the Canadian embassy or consulate in Korea could do it?
Thanks. |

Not that I've ever heard of, but if someone has a different experience, please share.
Normally, you need to take notarized copies of the docs to the Korean consulate in Canada for certification. A third party can do that on your behalf. |

I wonder if it is impossible then to enter Korea and work there from a country different from your own with just regular documents? |

Nope. Your docs have to undergo the extra steps. |

Without the Korean embassy/consulate (in Canada) certification of your documents it is NOT possible. Immigration rules and there is NO work around for it.
Mail your documents home and get it done. Plan on about 6 months for the paperwork to get back to you.
Alternatively, fly into Vancouver and it can all be done in a couple of days at the Korean consulate there.
