Get real, nobody is going to ban Americans because of 1 case, the outbreak is all about certain African countries (6500 reported cases)...see map.

Good job, Lucas -- reeled in KimchiNinja.
On the other hand, I remember when SARS was a thing. I'd gone home to Canada for a short vacation. On returning I went to greet the principal. He cowered at the sight of me & strongly indicated I shouldnt enter his office. |

It starts with one person, and although he'd only been in the country a short time it still could have spread quickly - time will tell....
Texans lax hygiene standards and poor education with regards to satiation could well make the situation worse! |

They don't believe that to be the case. |

| Quote: |
The first patient to be diagnosed with Ebola outside Africa during the latest outbreak was sent home with a course of antibiotics for two days after seeking medical care at a Dallas hospital last week, a hospital official said.
The patient, believed to be male, was admitted to an isolation unit at Texas Health Presbyterian hospital on Sunday, after coming to the same hospital two days before.
Edward Goodman, the infectious disease specialist at Texas Health Presbyterian hospital, told National Public Radio that the patient’s symptoms were not definitive when he was first seen. Goodman said: “He was evaluated for his illness, which was very nondescript. He had some laboratory tests, which were not very impressive, and he was dismissed with some antibiotics.” |
I think I'd prefer the over cautious Korean approach! |

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything, but most Texans I've met seem pretty well educated on how to eat until they're full. |

It's funny how Koreans go into this 'safety panic' thing over viruses, then get their cars and drive like madmen. Are they into safety or are they not? It's like the cars with 'Baby on Board' stickers on the back window, yet the baby in question is sitting on the drivers lap.
Make up your mind, Korea. |

Yeah, because cars and viruses have anything to do with one another. |

Although I started this thread, a little tongue in cheek. With Ebola now spreading to Spain, I can see the situation getting much worse, much more quickly.
This could be a perfect excuse to pull the whole EPIK program at once, or at least restricting movement.
Expect some 'guidance' about winter holidays. Or, knowing Korean last minute planning, people go on holiday early Jan, only to be banned from re-entering Korea! |

+1 on that
It got a bit out of hand last time when we were locked in our flats for two weeks because of the flu outbreak |
