So hi everyone
I'm interested in IBC afterschool program and they seem really decent, no shady two bank book schemes. Has anyone here worked for them?
Cause I waasn't able to talk to a current teacher as the school's program is new.
Thanks |

Yeah I am curious about this company too. They do seem like a decent company, but I would like to hear other people's experience from them. Also, do they offer pension and medical insurance? |

I wouldn't recommend them.. worked for them for about 6-7 mths. before I abruptly got fired. the person who is supposed to manage you at their company would either quit or get fired every month, because they had a lot of problems working for the company.
so if you have any problems, issues, etc. it is almost impossible to get it settled because nobody cares, and you're always talking to someone new.
I also never got my health insurance.
But yes. you will get paid on time. |

I had a job offer from that company, but passed when I got a GEPIK offer. |

Isn't GEPIK longer hours, bigger class sizes, and lower pay than an after-school job? So, why go for a GEPIK job instead of IBC?

Yes, I think after schools are better. BUT, if you have no experience in Korea, public schools might be better.
Also, it does depend on if you like kids and if you are a bit of a fun teacher. If too many students drop the classes, you could get fired. I'm not saying a fun teacher is a better teacher, at all, but the after school programs, mainly are for parents to put their kids for some 'fun' after school activities, and if it's too serious, and the kids don't have any fun, these parents (who are not the serious, crazy Korean parents who only care about their SS studying) will take the child out.
BUT, a warning about IBC is they used to be great (although true about them always changing managers), but the current male manager who deals w/ foreigners is a jerk.. I called in sick, and he was horrible, although yo really don't see him that much.
And, you will be paid, the hours are great. |

What kind of fun? What do you do with the kids for fun? |

Do they still send their teachers out for private lessons? How about the English village camps that require you to start at 9:30/10am? |
