“In the brief email, the recruiter explains to Katie: ‘I am sorry to inform you that my client does not hire Irish people due to the alcoholism nature of your kind. Best of luck in future.’"

If she had applied to teach in Saudi Arabia I would be more understanding.

There is always the possibility that she was butt ugly and they wanted to let her down easy.

I once told a fat girl I didnt want to go out with her after our one date was because she was Jewish and I didn't think it would work out. Truth is I couldn't care less about religion, if she wasn't a whale and was better looking I would have run out immediately and started studying the Torah!

Yeah, definitely needs some work in 'how to say no'. Starting with,

1. you don't have to explain why. Let the rejected work it out for themselves.

I'm waiting for another blunt reply from some recruiter

"I am sorry to turn you down applicant but you are simply too fat. Seriously lose some weight"

Picture of the girl.

When you apply for a job on Craigslist...how do you know you're applying for a legitimate job? Can't any bored foreign teacher create a fake job posting on Craigslist just to jerk around fellow foreigners?

I ask this because last week someone I know applied for a job in Seoul on Craiglist and got a response even more ridiculous than this one.

thats not very helpful though. Plenty of posters on here wondering why they can't score a job.

A quick glance at their photo would often reveal something basic - eg comb your hair! wear a shirt and tie! etc

I've posted jobs in the past for schools and its amazing how lax applicants can be.

The Irish are drinkers. It's common to see them stumbling around in the movies.

The Lucky Charms he probably has should make up for the difference.

That's what they thought in the 1950s when my Grandad came over to London from Ireland and used to see signs on lodging houses saying 'no dogs or Irish' . It rankled with him quite a lot as he'd just fought for Britain in the second world war.

It may seem harsh but that's the method that works. Typical reaction of an average person to a rejection is: "that's not true', "that's not me" etc. i.e. we retreat to our child state. People who are wondering why they can't get jobs, already have been told why. They just haven't heard it because they were busy retreating back to their child state.

If you were to say that a Saudi is going to be incompetent, lazy and behind the bell curve in character, I would probably say that most are. But saying that if you hire an Irish person he is going to be a heavy drinker? I'm not so sure about that.

You dont.
Craigslist seoul is FULL of ghost jobs and BS listings.
I'd say at least half of the jobs are not actually available
Which is complicated but it means the recruiter doesn't really have the bid yet. They're just spamming a position that they stole off FB or another site. Then they hope for a young blonde who will accept lower pay and they go to the person in charge and say hey pick my applicant! But if you are not that person, you're basically interviewing for an unavailable job. If anyone asks you to do a "presentation" or " demonstration" it often means they want to get the bid from the afterschool company or biz corporation. They currently have nothing to offer.
In short, CL is full of shite ads.
