Is it me, or are after schools getting worse nowadays.

Many have never paid pension, but now some don't pay medical, and pay also seems lower..2.6 for ex'p people,.
Now this would all be okay bc of the short hours, but now the hours seem long...starting at 11 (even on t and Th when theres no class until 2).
Really,? So it seems what with minus the housing, the pension, and the medical, this is turning out to be one of the lowest paying jobs... bc with an 11 start, theres no time to work another job..
So, survey here on people's hours and the co. they work for, anyone???

And, I'm positive they are merely copying one another. My old co., for ex., used to provide housing, and stopped. I also saw another co. advertise for only 2.5 pay and then noticed they changed it to 2.6 a few days later.
So is part of the problem that we are accepting these lower standards?

They have to be classified as f-6 or e-2 jobs.
The f-6 jobs are still 12-5 for 3.0
The e-2 jobs are like 11-6 for 2.3

Don't accept anything starting before noon or paying under 3.0, since you don't get benefits anyway.

You know there use to be a large repair shop in my hometown (gone now). If someone worked too hard, they'd kindly have it suggested to them to slow the pace down. If they didn't stop it or take the hints after a week or two, the local union chapter would lay down the law out back after work more suggestively (punches, kicks, and all).

Maybe we need to grab hold of newbie English teachers who accept these offers and do the same. Lol. Just kidding, but maybe we should find those who take these offers and shun them, avoid them socially, do all that we can to isolate them and make them all pull runners. Ha ha.

Prob won't work the same. lol. Let's hope the US economy keeps improving and that these aren't fake stats. That'll fix the problem for us.

lol. Yeah.. The hours and pay have gotten worse in the last 2 years, but it did start around the same time.
mmm, 2.3? you mean without housing right? They're still at least 2.5 or 2.6 without housing I think.
Yeah, definatly, the F visas are in demand in AS.
But, I'm seeing 2.5 ads now..and whose taking them, you wonder.

Probably people that would rather get 2.5 for a 6 hour per day job, compared to working a 9:00-6:30 kindy for 2.1 plus housing.

Those jobs do provide housing. The 3.0 ones don't.

I work 12:00-5:30 (Come in at 1:00 on Tuesdays and Fridays) and get 3 million

A lot of these afterschool recruiters are pretty arrogant and shady. But when you really look at it, these jobs aren't so great. Unless you have a legit 12-5pm, 3.0-3.1 salary
BUT these 11-6, 2.7-2.8 salary jobs with no housing?? I mean, tell me how that's better than 2-9pm at a crapwon for 2.2+ housing? Answer: it's not.
I'd say at least half these new "afterschool" jobs are shite.

Agreed!!!~ and, I think the problem is that experienced teachers are accepting these offers.
I've seen my old co. put an ad for a very low salary of only 2.55, albeit low hours (12:30-5), but obviously didn't receive offers so changed the salary upwards a few days later.

And the cos, are seeing other cos with long hours and no benefits place ads, and following suit.
BUT, if experienced teachers take hakwon hours of 11-6 with no benefits 2.6, no pension, no medical, no key money, then that willl be the new standard pretty quickly!!!
Do they realize rent is usually at least 550-600/mth??
