Hi,
I'm a South African citizen/english native speaker but been living in a non english speaking country for a while. I came here to study at university and now have a degree from here. I was surprised to find out that EPIK doesn't accept degrees outside of an english speaking country??? What strange rule is that, despite being a native speaker??? Don't really get it, but anyway is the same requirement set for hagwons? Never really heard about such a requirement outside of korea...
Thanks!! |

I'm pretty sure it is an immigration requirement, not really an EPIK exclusive requirement, in order to get the E-2 visa. So, you may be kinda screwed. |

Yes, for an E2 visa, you need to be from one of the seven recognized countries AND have a BA from a university in one of those countries as well. |

Passport and degree from one of the 7 "approved" countries is an immigration requirement for an E2.
Missing one or the other and you will be looking at China, or SE Asia.
Another note is that many countries in SE Asia do NOT consider S.Africans to be native speakers so a TOEIC test (IELTS and TOEFL are also acceptable) is required as well as the degree.
