Now, after I was back in the states, October 2011, and into 2012, I was still getting emails from recruiters and websites inviting me to teach in Seoul and other public schools. How far did this actually go? Was it just another time where it was a 'this time we really mean it' type thing, and they didn't? How's the situation now? |
And they did.
Other places have followed in cuts, most recently Incheon, Daegu, and ChungBuk province. |

High School positions were cut in Seoul.
At the end of 2012 almost all middle and high school positions were cut in Gyeonggi.
Most middle school positions have been cut in Seoul.
The rest of the country is announcing major cuts effective from next year.
It's definitely going to get worse before (if it ever) gets better. |
