| The price in Korea would include the VAT and tariffs and whatever middlemen Ikea are forced to deal with, so a direct comparison with U.S. prices, which don't include sales tax, is off the mark. |

Maybe Ikea needs to whip out some stats and force the Kimmie government to match tariffs paid in other countries.
Better yet, show a price breakdown of each item. Example; table is 300000 won. Actual item cost is 180000. Shipping is 30000. Tariffs are 90000. |

Smoke and mirrors. It rather reminds me of different Canadian provincial premiers squaking over high prices at the pumps (for gasoline) after they just initiated a gas tax hike in their previous budget. Just for hypocritical show. Combined levies, federal and provincial excise taxes, and sales taxes contribute to half the price of gasoline in Canada. It's more expensive than the USA. But, it's still cheaper than Korea and Europe.
Anyways, Ikea ought to have a list behind every price with a specific breakdown of why the cost is what it is. I assume they have a few smart accountants who will be able to do this. |

Maybe that's why I am not in charge of companies like this. I would not play nice.
Exactly what I would do.
I'd also cut the onion budget in the food court.
