Does anybody else use this here? It's seriously the greatest technology! I feel more at home being able to watch sports center, news, etc. Smile I highly recommend it if you are taking a trip back home.

My dad got me one as a going-away gift before I moved here. It is a great invention. He also set it up so that I could keep an eye on my mom's puppy while she's at work by hooking it up to a camera. It's pretty great technology.

I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through my first couple months with my Slingbox. Now that I have a pretty big social circle, I mainly use it for sports.

Eh, just get the base model. It will have to be hooked up to your "host's" tv back home, and you just need to download some software onto your computer.

Please go to www.woot.com today and order one before it is too late. Probably the best deal you're gonna find on it. It will only be available for a few more hours.

You will get the slingbox solo (no hd) and the powerline ethernet adapters so you can have a network connection near your parent's spare cable box. Any questions about this product PM me. I think it is great.

Bumping this thread as a PSA.

Just started using Slingbox- accessing a family member's entire Dallas area cable tv package on my laptop from Sarasota, Florida. Damn, I thought to myself, I could have used this when I was in Korea.

What previous posters said is true - a great invention. I highly recommend it!

Get the HD slingbox. It's better quality. I'm watching the Grey Cup live now. Awesome!

Yeah it was great, but my dad disconnected it earlier this year, as I was killing his bandwidth. Embarassed

It's cool. If you use chrome, just install hola and you can watch hulu. I also use veetle or http://www.club-mst3k.com/

Happy deskwarming!
