Err...when is it?
On the grapevine (and even looking back to posts on Dave's from a year ago) it seems that there's a big rush for teachers around mid-January, in time for the beginning of the March academic term.
But as we all know, the market has become super duper competitive unless you're white, female, American, etc, etc.
So for 2015, will this peak hiring time in Jan still be accurate? Asking so I know when to throw in the can and give up on the Korean dream. |

Ah yes, the golden dream of....abusive bosses...spiteful coworkers...unappreciative employers... an utterly frustrating daily experience.

Since late October, the restrictions have been downplayed. Recruiters have been spamming me to take up jobs due to start feb/march. Guess the rush to grab that recruiter fee before someone else does leads to a 'you'll do!' kind of environment.
BUT since about a week ago ive seen the restrictions creep back in with some postings. Much more female only positions popping up again. This suggests that things are equalizing again. If you need to get in the door and you dont fit the profile, id suggest hurrying the hell up. |

You got me, of course I meant throw in the towel. Maybe this is why I'm not getting hired haha.
Chaparrastique, you forgot yellow dust!
World Traveller, dw m8, it says it's going to go up soon.
If I could live to see the day when these no-good recruiting agencies stop spamming the same generic and useless crap every day, I would be so happy. |

How much is "higher" and when is "soon" though? Sounds sketchy. (Recruiters have been known to play loose with the truth in order to get commission.) |

Exactly. The Korean dream. OP, please tell me you are joking. The Korea Times and Arirang might love to use those terms, but for a university graduate from an actual first world country to throw it out in a post is beyond dumb.
The Korean dream, really? Please tell me you from Azerbeijan. |

160,000 - 200,000 won per week, no benefits, work Saturdays. How could any qualified person (female) turn this wonderful opportunity down? |
