Though it is two generations old, it is still a premiere full frame workhorse. It has a very low 12,500 shutter count (not replaced, stock, rated at 200,000 shots) and the body in general is in very good condition. It has many pro features (1/250 flash sync, great AF support, 1/8000 shutter speed, pro ports, weather sealing, etc.) that even the newer D610 and D750 lack.
If you're looking to get into serious full frame photography, or need a a backup body, this is the perfect camera.
