Hi guys. I have a specific question.

I've been in Korea almost 6 years without ever living anywhere else.

I'm looking to move jobs and they are saying i need an apostilled crc, from the UK. Is this right? If I've not lived anywhere else why would that matter? I still have my apostilled one from when I came here in 2009, and have had a couple of Korean ones whilst here.

Also, and more importantly, if I do need one - how can I do it with no UK address? Would I have to send stuff back and forth from Korea?

Thanks.

You can prob do the same thing I did in with my Canadian one. My POE required a new degree and criminal check certified back in 2011. But haven't lived in Canada in years. I put my sister's mailing address and listed any previous address I had in Canada when I lived there going back for several years anyways. My current address is my sister's address. I had the fingerprints done here and mailed to the head police and then they did the check and mailed to my sister's house. I emailed my uni and had them mail a degree and some copies of transcripts to my grandmother's. Both of them sent it to the Korean consulate to be certified and stamped. Then they Fed EXed them to me here. I gave it to the POE and they've never bothered me since.

So, in a nutshell, list your ma and pa, granny, favorite uncle, buddy you trust - one of those folks addresses as your current address. Get the criminal form mailed there unopened. Get them to express it over here with whomever uses a tracking number and you're good to go. But, I have no idea how long your country's police force takes to do this. Apparently Americans really have to jump through hoops. (Why they keep coming over with that hassle and falling exchange rate is anyone's guess.)
