I've been offered a non-ESL teaching job in Seoul that I would like to accept. I'm very qualified for this position and it would be a shame if I lost it. The pay's not spectacular but I would be teaching in my field. The only problem is it starts one month before my current contract ends. I'm trying to think of inovative ways around the problem.
They could, I imagine, hire someone on a F4 for a month. Or they could spread the teaching workload among the other teachers for a month. I'd still make myself available for grading essays and exams, so other teachers won't have to do that. (Although some teachers might appreciate the overtime pay.)
Can anyone think of other options? Leaving my current job early isn't really possible at this stage, so I need to think of something else. Some of you have been here for years and have probably encountered situations like this. What options did you come up with? Were you able to take the job even though you couldn't start on the preferred date? I'd like to present the school with a few options.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Seems fairly obvious that if the new job is your priority, then you drop your current gig like a hot plate.
Don't tell me you're sentimental about a hogwon?
There's only a month in it. Your current place will be able to find someone new within days. |

I'm sure that there is at least one solution but to give you a viable one, it would probably be better if you explained why you can't leave the current job a month early. |

Just quit. That's what I did when a good job came up in Jeju. Bye bye Seoul. Never regretted my decision. |
