Has anyone heard it worked for this school? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I worked for one Pals Lab a long time ago but not that branch.

My info is very outdated but if the owner is a man going by James or Michael Kim, steer clear of that crook.

PM if you want more detail.

in general, be cautious of any place if the owner or manager is named Mr. Kim.

I am actually surprised that the Pals Lab franchise is still going. If I had money to invest, Pals Lab would be lower on the list than SLP or GnB for my investment dollars.

They gave me this 500+ page manual to read on understanding children and better ways to teach. Utter crap. Their curriculum used the worst textbooks ever (Gogo Loves English) and the company seemed to have no direction at all.

These are the questions I would ask an existing teacher at any hagwon:

1. Is it hot in summer and cold in winter?
2. Is there a high turnover of Korean teachers?
3. Are you paid ontime and in full?
4. Is there more to teaching than vocabulary lists?
5. Does the owner have any idea how to manage people?
6. Are you ever expected to work public holidays because the parents complained?
7. Do you receive pension and health insurance?
8. Were apartment repairs done?
9. Are illegal security deposits charged?
