I wonder, if ISIS successfully takes Makkah and Madinah, will the Saudi King stay on as the Head custodian?

I know Mecca from Macau, I know Medina's not so bizarre. However I have no idea what Makkah and Madinah are?

Makkah is the Saudi English spelling for Mecca, and Madinah is the Saudi English spelling for Medina.

The old king kicked the bucket yesterday (congestive heart failure). His brother is 80 years old, I wonder how long he'll last.

British/American English spellings are standard, they take precedence over local spellings.

Isn't it a bit presumptuous when foreign cultures are bold enough to pretend to teach us the best way to spell our own language?
