Is there anybody working at a hagwon in kangnam yuk? I'm looking to work at a hagwon and would appreciate any comments (good or bad) about any experiences they've had working there. I know there's a bunch (i.e., Hoyah, YBM, etc) and would like to work in that area.

Thanks,

title changed for clarification--mod team

Do you mean yuk as in 'station'?

Probably won't be easy finding a job right near Kangnam station, since its such a small area (although there are quite a number of hagwons), you'd probably do better widening your search to all of Kangnam-ku and pick up some of the more residential areas (like where I am).

I concur. Gangnam is huge. Daechi is in Gangnam which is alledgedly the heart of english schools and education. There are so many schools around and Gangnam, albeit nice, isn't the epicentre of Seoul. Also, because there is more money in Gangnam, the parents think they have the right to complain a whole lot more, making your life a tad more stressful.

The kids tend to be horribly spoiled in the Kangnam-Gu area. Such bratty little kids that have been given no responsibilities in life except not to drop their new 500 000won camera phones......geeeesh!

I agree. Although I'll still take them over my army-brat hick kids in Chungcheonbuk-do (sp?) they're a lot more snotty than my Suwon kids Sad
