I was hoping they'd suspend Korean Air flights to New York for a month. That would be a bigger message than some elite spending time in Korea's version of Club Fed

Are you sure you're reading the article correctly?

According to the Feb. 2 Korea Herald...

Quote:
The prosecution on Monday called for the court to sentence Cho Hyun-ah, former vice president of Korean Air, to three years in prison on charges of obstructing aviation safety and coercing cabin crew staff to make false statements over the so-called “nut-rage” incident.

Quote:
Judges said they would deliver a verdict for the defendant Cho within a month.

The people are demanding blood. I think she will get 1 year and may not even serve it.

As most of you probably know by now, she got one year.

That seems about right to me, given that no one was actually hurt by her crime, and she is highly unlikely to do it again. Plus, anyone who didn't know not to stop a plane from taking off surely knows now, thus covering the deterrent effect.

I heard that the court acquitted her on the charge of being involved in the subsequent cover-up.
