|
|
Hi there
I have registered with Korvia through the GEPIK program to teach in Korea next year for the March intake. I have passed the initial Korvia screening and have sent back the required application form and done the introduction video etc.
I got all of this stuff in about 3 weeks ago and have had good feedback from my recruiter but I still have not received any job offers for next year and am starting to get a little worried. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get a job offer through Korvia and GEPIK? I am assuming that more job offers will hopefully come up in the new year but that seems like it is cutting it a little bit fine.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Tristan |

That is cutting it close by western standards. By Korean standards not at all. They love leaving things to the last minute here. |

This. Favorite least favorite thing about Korea:
Three months before the end of your contract: we need to know by next week if you're re-signing.
Two weeks before the end of your contract: we should probably start looking for your replacement. |

Yes, well. As I have told many newbies who arrive in Korea and go on about how Koreans just do not make any sense whatsoever:
Making sense is frowned upon in Korea. |

I wouldn’t worry. If you’ve gotten all your documents in and Korvia has accepted you, you’re fine. Right now is about the time that GEPIK teachers are starting to give their notice if they’re leaving their schools. Really, they aren’t required to give notice until next month. So, I’d just sit tight. |
