Brian Williams - my favorite anchor of all time since Peter Jennings died a few years ago, has stepped down due to a controversy surrounding his 'embellishment' of his wartime helicopter ride ten years ago.
He also died for 22 minutes on Omaha Beach.
Fell through the ice at Chosin Reservoir.
We owe that focker a lot.
It's sad to see him go. But hey, he's worth 200 million, so I don't feel too bad for him. It just sucks because he has good presence and delivers the news the way I like it. No one else except Lester Holt even comes close. |

| A news anchor is worth $200 mill.? Sheesh.... does anyone earn good money today for doing something really useful like eradicating measles, smallpox, flu, cold, making a tablet that can replace all nutritional requirements....? |

agree with you died, he was my favorite since Brokaw retired and Jennings died, still nobody topped Cronkite though |

I really don't get why this is such a huge deal.
Like, he lied, fine, cut him whatever. But it's everywhere, people writing about it on facebook, it was reported on CNN. Why is this such a huge story? I am genuinely perplexed. Richard Quest got arrested in Central Park with with a noose around his neck to his ball bag in possession of Meth. He kept his job. |

Richard Quest had the gay mafia protecting him. Williams is a straight WASP male, so no such luck for him. As an aside, I have seen his daughter's ass. |

Richard Quest's actions did not tie to his job. It didn't dent his reporting credibility. The same cannot be said about Brian Williams. Apples and oranges. |

Hillery lied about coming under sustained fire in Bosnia and she's still eligible to be president....Oops, forgot that lying is part of a politicians's job description. Carry on. |

Because human beings love to feast on their own. It's like the way things get around here when a story pops up about teachers going to work with booze on their breath or smoking pot on the weekend. The media covering scandal within their own ranks is basically Dave's ESL Cafe with a global audience. |
