Was listening to NPR today, the subject of "Vocal Fry" came up in the 2nd part of an episode #545, This American Life . I guess I missed this back in 2011 when all the media was talking about it. I've never watched an episode of the Kardashians because I always considered it a monumental waste of time.

For some brief TLDR info: The way young women (in America) talk makes people crazy. Kim Kardashian made it famous. Older people hate it. Don't do it in a job interview, you may not get the job because of it. Best described as a female's voice descending into a lower register as they complete a sentence.

Imo, I just thought that's the way some people talk. Kind of like the valley girls of the 80's.

Interesting topic though. Some might even go as far as calling men that hate Vocal Fry misogynists.
