If I just take my now-ending E-2 visa contract that indicates the finish date has just passed will that suffice?

Or do I unequivocally need a letter from my employer confirming that I worked the entire contract duration?

Edit: Also, is there a passport photo booth at Immigration?

No need. Immigration already has copies.
Be aware you can only apply for a D10 after your contract has expired, not before.
