How much you wanna bet that if this was written about a Korean airline, we would be hearing "Oh those Koreans" and "Confucianism this and that?"

Also, United is probably the worst airline I have flown on when coming back and leaving Korea. I did it twice and never again.

Say that again. The first time I asked for some water, during a non-meal portion of the flight, the flight attendant scoffed at me, like I was wasting her time. Come on, it's your job.

There's not a single American airline company, not even those specifically dedicated to exotic vacation destinations like Hawaiian Airlines, that is not a national embarrassment. Delta has perhaps been the least intolerable.

I flew 2 times a week for about 40-45 weeks of the year for a bit over 4 years. I flew United whenever possible, though my airport isn't a hub for that airline. In the 4 years I've did that I had around 10 serious disruptions. LaGuardia accounts for around half. Weather and 1 mechanical issue for the rest. This doesn't include delays, which are common, but not all that long (and almost always weather related). I really do not understand the hate for American airlines or airports (less LaGuardia). Yes, the airlines are not as good as Singapore or Emirates but they're also not government owned symbols of national greatness. I flew from Atlanta to NYC this week, round trip, for 299$. That's incredibly cheap.

The TSA is awful but that isn't the airlines or airports fault.

This is a large part of the problem. Very few that service international clients in either the airplane or airport care the slightest about the damage they're doing the nation's reputation, much less the piss-poor service they're giving to their own fellow countrymen.

It's a real shame that Asiana and Korean Air have only been in the news for their embarrassing hiccups, because those two, along with ICN itself, have always been - and likely will continue to be - my most pleasant flying experiences by far. And the more I fly American-owned airlines, the more I'm reminded of the thieving slopheap that is the Philippines.

Take a minute to think about what you have down with your own post.

Your post *does* the very thing that it makes accusations about others *potentially* doing. It's a very xenophobic accusation. Wink

Highly doubtful. I made a comment about one American airline that I hate. Other posters then brought in the American airlines suck comments. I love flying Delta Wink

Now you are defending something that isn't your original post. You are jumping all over the place. What was your agenda in your original topic? I don't think it was to give Delta Airlines 5 stars.

Haven't enjoyed a flight on a US carrier since I was young. That said, this is about safety and is an example of the airline doing the right thing.

This is a different type of story. It's a story of problem prevention. This is a story about a people recognizing a fault an making efforts to correct it. It's a story about responsibility. It's a story about forethought, safety, accountability, and responsibility before the accident occurs.

Don't word. This type of story won't be popping up as an "Oh those Koreans" and Confucianism is this and that" post.
