Just started watching the show and while they do rip off a lot of the UK bits (as does the US version) I really like the Maximum Speed segments. Oh and those two models in the MS bit aren't too bad either.

Jeremy clarkson was an obnoxious, arrogant and abusive cretin, and a liability.
If they had replaced that old fart years ago with someone cool, I would've actually bothered to watch the show.

I agree. He constantly espoused bigoted sweeping statements about certain groups of people, and displayed a superiority complex that only served to highlight his own insecurities.

He didn't think very highly of British expats, so I can see why you loathe him so much.

On the other hand, he was fun to watch.

Sounds like you don't know what a 'car-bore' is. I, for instance is a 'sports-bore' (but not a car-bore). For people who are not 'sports-bore' like me, sports talk is a terrible bore. Car-bores have the same problem. They enjoy talking about cars but infrequently find others who share their interest. For them, Jeremy, who pushed BBC for a car show, is a god-send. There are millions of car-bores out there. Top Gear has worldwide viewership of estimated 400 mil. No wonder Jeremy rakes in millions each year.

BTW: indirect loathing of a person indicates that you are a person similar to, in this case, Jeremy.

The jokes are already doing the rounds:
What do Jeremy Clarkson and Amy Winehouse have in common?

They both used to be on top gear.
