I grew up on Japanese Manga and I still love it. Colourful with deep stories. Imaginative with a lot of fun. What I never understood was why most of the characters are not japanese and why are all the women blonde as if only they can be sex idols. Japanese women are relegated to the nerdy techs or the motherly/sisterly types.

Manga ha changed in the past 20+ years, but these ideas seem to stay the same.

Any comments about Manga ?

Are you talking about manga (paper) or anime(screen)?

anyway, I think this explains: I asked some young Korean elementary school girls: Why aren't you playing soccer with the boys? A: 1. girls don't do that 2. they don't let us play. Most manga were written by men and they were writing about their own fantasy. Nowadays best sellers are 'bluemanga' (not 'blue' movies), written by women and deals with women's world.

Interesting.

I do mean film and comics. The whole Manga World.

It is fantasy, but why so many blonde women? Why are most characters so quasi - european ? I find that funny ... and disturbing lol
