If the recruiter likes your resume and thinks he can 'sell' you, it could be the same day.
If you have not been short-listed....possibly never. |

August as in seven months ago? I wouldn't hold your breath. August in the future? Again, they don't care enough to write a two second message of "Get back to me/ reapply then." Unless you are a young, attractive, inexperienced white female from the United States. That's the ideal candidate. It used to be those outside that profile would get loads of job offers the same day they inquired, but no more. The ESL job market is terrible for those looking for work now. So competitive/ so over saturated . It's like Japan. |

So basically you guys are saying if I don't get a reply within a day I most likely will never get a reply back? That sounds like a load of horse shit to me... |

Well how many days have you been waiting?
A few years ago, Westerners would get a response right away begging them to begin working ASAP.
That was when there were more jobs than applicants.
No the opposite is true.
Looks like you're not wanted, even for the crap jobs. |

If you half know the answer, why are you asking the great and the good?
If you are experienced, not female, BA in poli-sci and not under 25 then your CV will be in the 'delete' folder.
In my day, lad. All you had to do was be able to walk and talk at the same time and you had a job in under an hour.
NB: On furhter investigation, you are a gyopo with loads of family in Korea - just get your F4 and fly over - why are you arsing around with recruiters for? |

Do you have all of your documents ready to go, like your background check, diploma, and all of that apostilled? If not, then recruiters won't help you until you have those things ready. Also, don't use just one recuiter, use as many as you can. |

That wouldn't even be a load of horse shit with stateside recruiters who might have reputations to keep. It's not at all a load of horse shit in the land of Korean EFL recruiting. Two days, max, I'd say. |

That is pretty much my experience. I hate the trend the ESL market is heading towards. I chose to hire based on qualifications and not looks. Unfortunately I may be in the minority.

I sent in my resume 4 days ago... Im looking for an august departure, which is why I am curious. I was expecting answers like 2 weeks-a month. But One day or no go I was not expecting. I am 25 years old, have only volunteer teaching experience, hold a BA and a TEFL, I am attractive enough, but Im not female.

Because I am in a volunteer program right now and it does not end until May. I want to go to Busan where my gf lives but I can't stay with her because she will be living in a school dorm. All my family lives in seould so i cant stay with them. I rather get my job here in the states then fly out. Although if I dont find anything until August Ill just have to do what you suggested.
Also I will have all my documents by mid april they are currently processing. |

might be a bit too far in advance. you are probably looking at a september 1 start date. Recruiters will be busy promoting ASAP jobs first, as well as april may and june |
