Quote:
Former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser has died aged 84.

A statement from his office said Mr Fraser, who led the nation between 1975 and 1983, died after a short illness.

He became its leader in controversial circumstances, after the unprecedented dismissal of PM Gough Whitlam.

Once in office, he championed the rights of Indigenous Australians and refugees, a stance that put him on a collision course with his own party in later life.

I'll leave any commetary to those who follow Australian politics more closely than I do.

Nobody follows Australian politics closely. Not even Australians do.

But I'm sure we can look forward to fifty pages of impassioned debate and exciting recollections when Mulroney finally kicks.

Hey, how dare you make that kind of comparison? I served with Brian Mulroney. I knew Brian Mulroney. Brian Mulroney was a friend of mine. And Malcolm Fraser was no Brian Mulroney.

Anyway, I guess it is possible that my comment may have been offensive to some Australians. Good thing they can't read!

You can watch q & a on ABC for free online and itis well worth an hour of your time a week.

Although it is hilariously, unashamedly bias towards the left it still is entertaining to watch and you get to learn so much about Australian politics, social issues and history.
