DO I NEED A criminal background check when i have an f4 visa? Or do some schools sort of look the other way? i guess what im trying to ask is whether or not i would be needing a criminal background check for every job listing?

You will be required to get everything an E2 visa holder would need. CBC, apostilled diploma, and a health check. Only difference is it's not a visa requirement its a department of education requirement.

There are always shady schools that might look the other way, but I would say most don't.

I dont think you have to go through that criminal background check. You only need to get the visa requirements and if you have any doubt regarding that consult any criminal defense lawyer.

In order to be registered at the MOE you need the SAME documentation as an E2 applicant.
The only difference is that it is submitted to the MOE and not to immigration.

The advantages of the F4 are that your visa is not tied to your employer. Once you are registered at the MOE you can change (teaching) jobs freely and you are free to take on other work.

You can't register yourself.

The employer has to register their teachers after the teacher is hired.
It has nothing to do with the employee. The onus is on the employer.

Once you have been registered then you are good until you change jurisdictions.

Find a job and simply be prepared to obtain the necessary documents since it is the employer who gets fined for having unregistered teachers on staff.

There is NO consequence to you for not being registered other than perhaps loss of employment.
