Anyone have any experience in quitting your job and transferring your visa to a D-10?
And if you did how did you support yourself in the meantime? Right now I'm living in my own apartment so I'm not in danger of losing my housing.
It's not that my boss is that bad, it's just the kids are stressing me out to the point that I dream about teaching class every night. In 6 years of teaching they are the worst kids I've ever had.
Also, has anyone had any experience applying for a background check from outside the US? I'm strongly considering just moving from Korea back to Japan.
Thanks for any insights. |

Move back to Japan.
Without the blessing of your employer (getting the elusive LOR) the simple act of switching from an E2 to a D10 can be problematic and may require you to change countries until your ARC expires.
For an American to get a new set of documents can also be a time consuming and frustrating experience when you are outside of the US. The time frame is MONTHS and it will be expensive.

I'd need the same documents to get a job there too. I suppose I could just apply for the docs and if things keep going south with the kids I can pretend I'm dying or my parents died, and fly over to job hunt before I actually drop the news I'm quitting. Or I could just get married.
I just don't understand the kids here. They are awful. They're completely out of control. The whole time I'm at work I feel like an exhausted witch. |
