Has anyone had their criminal record check done in Canada (WITH FINGERPRINTS) recently? How long did it take?

Thanks!

I did that last august from Vancouver. They said it'd take a couple weeks but it actually came back in the mail in one week flat.

[What crc doesnt require fingerprints?)

From start (getting printed) to finish (returned, authenticated copy from the Korean embassy) it usually takes 2 weeks.

New policy as of April 1. Korea wants criminal records to have finger prints for Canadians now.

The standard crc doc they'll mail back to you includes images of the prints they took from you at the station, as well as your photo. Is that what you mean?

I think up until the beginning of this year prints weren't necessary. I applied for a visa 2 years ago for Korea and I didn't need prints. Just my name and DOB were necessary.

That would have been a local check. Only two years ago? National rcmp checks requiring fingerprints have been the norm for a while now. Its straightforward. Theres a cost -- $50~$60? I forget. Then you need to get it notarized.

Haha, now I am even more confused. The last time I applied for a visa was in September 2013. There were no finger prints.

According to the girl at the consulate fingerprints became necessary as of April 1, 2015. Actually, she was very angry that I asked her when the new rules came into effect which is why I can remember. She was basically angry about everything I did.
