I'm in a little bit of an in between situation. I'm going home for the holidays mid contract but there is a small (10% chance) that I won't be back.

Can I get my tax records up to this date and settle up completely without actually being finished my job?

You can get your tax records from NTS and your bank. You can not file early. There is a password protected software package you can download and file abroad. I would strongly recommend taking your laptop in to NTS and having them set it up for you. If you have not already set up internet banking with your bank, you should do that before you leave as well.
