|
|
Hey, if anyone with some knowledge and solid facts could help me out, that would be awesome
I saw on the application details that people applying in Korea need to send a copy of their ARC. Because I've moved twice now, i've used all the space for addresses on the back on my ARC and so I have been issued a fresh one with only my full current address on it (ie. No previous full addresses).
Obviously EPIK will know that I've lived at different addresses, but will they look fully into my previous addresses?
My problem is that when I came to Korea, I landed a typical nightmare hagwon job (I won't go into details). And because I was staying at a temporary location when I first got to Korea, I used my hagwon's address when applying for my ARC.
So my first address on my ARC shows my hagwon's address and even the school's name.
I left that hagwon after a few months on REALLY bad terms, and didn't need a letter of release because I'm on an F4 visa.
So when I'm applying for EPIK, i'm unsure whether to be honest about previously working at this hagwon with the high chance of EPIK contacting this hagwon (which they will most definitely say not to hire me).
Or do I say nothing about my previous hagwon, and just say I've been travelling and learning Korean at a Korean university (which i'm actually doing right now) ?
So my question is, does EPIK ever look into your previous addresses to match your alibi? (Consider the fact that EPIK is a government run program.)

They can if they really wanted to, but if you leave that information out, there is little chance they'd go digging. There going to assume you're coming on an E2 visa. |

Thanks for the reply!
Yeah I'm leaning towards just not mentioning it.
Like I said, i'm on an F4 visa here (ie. I don't have to teach english to stay in this country), and after I quit my job I've been studying Korean at uni.
So, definitely not the typical case... I'm just hoping this doesn't raise any eyebrows.
Anyone else out there with thoughts on this? |

If you don't mention it, they won't search for it! |
