I got fingerprints in China. No one spoke english but I did it at a government forensics lab. They put big official stamps on it. I sent it off the FBI. The results are being sent to a friend in the U.S. because it is likely that it will never arrive if I send it to China.
What's this about the apostile? What can I do now to do whatever it is I have to do.
Edit: I read online that I can call the FBI after I mail the prints and ask them to send me the form or some seal or something for the State Department letter. Anybody know if this is true? |

The FBI can authenticate your FBI background check by placing their seal on it. After that your background check can be sent to the US State Department to receive an apostille. I think you're supposed to request that your background check be authenticated when you mail your prints. You can call the FBI and ask about this- 304-625-5590. |

When I did my background check in 2011, I sent the fingerprints to the FBI and forgot to request the notary stamp from the department lead. (That's what you need before you can get the apostille, a notary stamp from the division head at the FBI. They can do this at the same time as they process your background check)
I called the FBI, asked them to do the notary stamp for me, they asked for my Fed-Ex tracking number so they could find my fingerprints, and that was that. No problem. You can also e-mail them (sorry, don't remember the email address) |

Hey Trevor,
Getting everything right for the E2 visa can be bloody complicated. I found this website: waygookinkorea.com
They have a very detailed step-by-step guide on there on how to prepare all your documents for the visa process. Helped me. Hope it will help you. |
