Frankly, I'm stunned that no thread seems to be evident about this topic at this forum. So here goes....

Every Canuck knows the dark cloud that descended over Alberta last month with the bizarre victory of the socialists (Oh dear me! Did I say that?! I meant ''progressives") in the general election. What few at this site know, though, is that one of the newly-minted MLAs of that government (or to be precise, I suppose, of the government caucus) is an infamous ex-frequent poster on this forum. He fits every accurate stereotype of the leftist: anti-American, anti-Israeli, anti-capitalist (even while enjoying a bourgeois lifestyle), anti-elitist (he admires plebes like David Suzuki), etc., etc., etc. Mr. "anti-establishment'' is now Mr. "establishment" yet I expect the same sanctimony of old.

God help Alberta. God help Canada. God help us all.

???? I am horribly confused.

Are you;

A) A conservative supporter making an ineloquent joke about the NDP.

or B) A Liberal/NDP supporter (or other) satirizing the rights fears of the NDP victory?

Satire is hard to pick out from genuine fundamental mouthe breathing idiocy.

I'm pretty sure that Alberta could elect a bunch of Fascist-Anarchists or Commie-Nazis and it would make page A10 of the newspapers of the world.

Steelrails: Insignificant?! The TSX has lost 700 points since early May. What happened in early May? Oh, yeah, the NDP won in Alberta.

Bye, Bye, Alberta, the (former) economic engine of Canada....

They elected David Tz? Now we're really screwed.

Alberta was on their way down anyways, even before the NDP could dream about taking power. Alberta is a one-horse economy, and the Conservative didn't do a thing to change the fact. And the Cons even ran a deficit, ohhh... how 'conservative' of them. Everything in Alberta is dependant on oil in one form, or the other.

I really hope that the NDP starts putting serious cash in that Heritage Wealth Fund that we started like a decade before the Norwegians.

1. This forum isn't very active these days, and most of the remaining posters are American. On the Other Hand and mises (who hasn't been here in quite awhile and lives in the USA now) are the only Canadians that post here on a (semi?) regular basis now.

2. An infamous ex-frequent poster on this forum? Really? Or just kidding? If you're serious- who?

jvalmer: the NDP ''victory'' was in large part a "stick it up your ar__" protest vote against the post-Klein Tories.

Hey, BB, it's been a long time, eh? I'm not sure if I'd be violating the TOS by outing the bourgeois Bolshevik who is now (God help us) an Alberta MLA. I'll have to check into it.

I WILL say that this ex-frequent poster was clever (and cowardly) enough to have his ''political'' posts at Dave's deleted.

I have a good guess who Mosley is talking about (he could just PM everyone who posts in this thread to identify who he speaks of).

What I am curious about is how he knows the poster is in real life. Its not like very many of us identify our RL selves.

If the guy is as 'extreme' as is claimed, I'm sure he'll be relegated to the back-benches. It's the kind of job I'd love, good pay, with little responsibility. And a good pension if you're elected a few times..
