I heard immigration is getting rid of people who are fat, with AIDS, or generally un-cool.

We got a big problem recently. We were investigated from Immigration. They took all the documents. And they said that working with E-2 visa is illegal. We didn't know that. No one told us it is illegal. But they said that all the E-2 visas know that it's illegal working private lesson. We are very embarrassed now. Our penalty is 20,000,000won. We are very sad there's nothing to do about this.
We are not illegal company. We are going to check Korean law concretely. We are going to hire only F visa holders from now on.
Once again we apologize for having caused so much trouble.

So they can continue to operate, while some people are paying 20 million won fines ??

The company's penalty was 20,000,000W and the teachers who got busted are paying between 1million to 12 million won. That's what I heard at least.

They're lying scum. Of course they knew the law regarding the visa.

I googled up one of their old ads. It asked for an F2 or an F4. No mention of E2. I'm sure they know the law.

A 20 Million fine is probably pocket change off the money they have made.

They'll be back with a different name.

First hand accounts?! I imagine all those that were busted are sitting in detention getting processed for deportation. No cell phone service there.

Gee, I wonder where these teachers got the idea that it was okay to violate laws in Korea with impunity?

Oh yeah, watching Koreans do it a hundred times a day. Confused
