Looking around at different universities to study Korean(mainly the language for professional use) at the graduate level. Hawaii @ Manoa has the only flagship program for the US, and I saw a pretty promising degree @ University of Leiden. Both of these programs have a 1 yr overseas component and a lot of advanced offerings for classes.
Anyone have any experience with these two universities or seen any other programs that look interesting?
I've looked around a lot at existing Master's Degrees at the Korean universities, but they all seem to be designed for Koreans and more focused on literature and linguistics instead of a foreigner trying to learn practical use of the language at an advanced level. I've taken graduate classes in English literature before, and got beat up just enough to be able to not fool myself with the notion that there would be any chance of me passing a Korean Lit class. |
