|
|
I've just paid a couple bills using online banking. Seems to have gone through, but then I realized that my name isn't on the bill as I just moved in, and I didn't have to enter anything except an account number.
Unless they have a seperate bank account for each customer how can they tell who is paying what? I entered nothing indicating that I'm paying a specific bill.
I used to live in an officetel and I'd pay the same way. I never figured out how they deciphered who's bill was who's. Maybe they made sure every tenant's bill had a different total. Right down to 1 won. That would be easy enough to do in one building...but there's no way the electric company could do that will so many customers.
Did I just toss my money away? |

I am sure the account number is tied to your address. They don't care who pays the bill; it could be you, the last tenant, or your school for all they care as long as it gets paid. You can prove it was you through your bank though. |

The account number is your personal account with them. You pay down the balance on that particular account. |
