I am currently outside of Korea. I want to take a summer camp position starting in July. Do I need a CRC for a two-month work visa? Please walk me through this if you know the low-down. I have an M.A. and lots of Korean experience from years past, but I am not up on the new visa rules. |

Yes, you need a CRC for a C4 if you are working with kids (the process is the same as an E2).
If you are NOT Canadian then you need to get an apostille affixed to it.
The process varies by jurisdiction (country).
If you ARE Canadian then the RCMP check needs to be authenticated at the local Korean consulate.
You will also need to do the same with a copy of your undergrad degree if you don't have one with an apostille on it from previous sojourns in Korea.

Is it possible to get any kind of summer work visa without a CRC (for instance, if I am not working with kids)?
So for a July start this is impossible, I guess.
I may come back to Korea in the fall regardless of a summer camp. I wonder what I am going to do. I sent off fingerprints from Beijing today to the FBI in Clarksburg, but then It sounds like I need some sort of apostile...can you walk me through this? how do I do this from Beijing? I got some government stamp on the prints.

Possible.... yes.
Probable = no, but don't let that stop you from looking.
AND... just one more potential fly in the ointment, if you are in China there may be other complications: ie. they won't let you get a C4 or E2 if you are not on a "Z".

No, since you won't get an ARC. Your sojourn is less than 90 days.
