|
|
I've been in Korea for some years now and recently transferred my E2 to a new hagwon. I'm going to the hospital tomorrow to get my health check that is mandated by the Education Office. My boss at the last minute told me just to go do it myself, she's busy.
Any information on what I should say, or what I kind of medical test I should get? She was supposed send me a text in Korean that I can show the hospital, but she didn't do that. I guess I'm just hoping someone there speaks some english and that they've done this a number of times and know what I need,
but any advice here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |

The health check for an E-2 visa must be done at a designated hospital. Each of those designated hospitals has an international office--an English-speaking nurse who will assist you with everything. You can go to the hospital's website and get their number. |

You don't need to go to one of the designated hospitals if you have an existing E2 and already did one of the tests at a designated hospital. I've done my last three tests at a clinic. It was cheaper, and they did all the x-rays, blood and urine tests that you need. They knew exactly what it was and their test was recognised and accepted. They even told me last year, after checking on thier computer that I wasn't due for a test for another year. I had to explain that the NET needs one every year.
Make sure you have a passport size head shot as they'll glue that on the for. My form says 채 용 신 채 검 사 서 along the top. I assume that's the name of the form. |

Are health checks required yearly for E2 visa renewlas or transfers for hagwons? I have worked for the last few years at public school and always had to do it but was under the impression it was a requirement for the MOE not immigration. In March I am moving cities and switching to a hagwan and wonder if I will need to provide one. I never thought about it until now but should I go and get one done now? It wiould be easier to do it here in a city and hospitals that I am familiar with rather than in the new city. |
