Just wondering where a good place to get a Canada Goose jacket dry cleaned? I am hesitant about going to any regular mom and pop place. Any chain/well known companies I can go to?

You do know that they pull the down (sp) out of them while the poor things are still alive. Some die the first time. Some are covered in long cuts in the skin that goes to the bone. Not much between the skin and bone in that area. They hand sew the tears. Then the ones that live, after they regrow the down have it ripped out again. Some will live thru this torture for 3 of 4 times before it finally kills them. At least a mink, fox, etc. is killed and only skinned once.

Enjoy your coat.

There is no good place to dry clean a down garment. Many down product care labels advise "Do not dry clean"

I run a dry cleaning business in Canada, and our professional association has noted several problems with treating them. Many of my colleagues are now refusing to treat them. If the jacket was made post US takeover... good luck with maintaining it, even if you take it to a 'reputable' cleaner. The dry clean process has been widely known to degrade the integrity of the material at the seams and pocket edges, especially with black, blue and brown shells.

Also, crease (stress) lines have been noted to appear at the waist, and the fur trim is inconsistent in response to the normal dry cleaning cycle, often becoming worn and flat looking.

Oh and the plastic ends to the laces have been know to crack.

What we do now is spot treat the stains by hand with non-toxic chemicals, wet wash, and gently dry it with dryer balls to pound the feathers. After a dry cycle, we air dry them until complete. In short, they aren't worth the air between the linings.

Too bad the posters who go so crazy about how dogs and other animals are treated in Korea, do not give a shit about these poor birds. Anyone who buys one, or as a cleaning company cleans them, is evil. Perhaps the next one you buy will give you a gift certificate for a free 보신탕 meal.

Oh, and I heard that it is best if you wash it by hand with just a little bit of baby shampoo. Then to dry it, you take it to Hell.
