It's been 20 years since I met my Korean buddy on that cold January Cheongju morning in 1996. He just finished his military service and signed-up for some English classes before going back to university. Fortunate for me he already spoke English so he just became a bud. We hung out pretty much every morning. Right away, I started doing my laundry at his place, his mom starting feeding me, and I even bowed to his ancestors more than twice. He was this 3rd or 4th year Yonsei student with an uncanny ability to make fun of people and mock, as well as, talk his way out of a lot of crap. Just nowhere near a nerdy sissy guy. He felt perfectly comfortable purchasing those soft porn magazines that they used to sell back then too. He always said Buddhists don't give a crap about stuff like like that. He swore really well too--great timing and no awkward f-words. Yes he was a special dude and luckily he walked into my hogwan. Nowadays, I'm happy to say, our families see each other every two years or so and we just trip out. Don't always look for that person from New Zealand you heard lives in some nearby village....life in Korea is easier when you have a Korean buddy.

I call BS on this story. As everyone in the know understands Korea has no homosexuality, much less available gay soft porn mags for sale to the public.

I'd tread lightlly if I were you sir less you get charged with some sort of subversion violation and sent to a camp somewhere for "re-education".

Good day to you. I SAID GOOD DAY!!....

The magazines themselves were oversize about 9" x 12" and were perfect bound somewhat like a National Geographic, but they were printed matte or flat on heavier paper. Editions had funky titles such as "Best Girl" and usually depicted about eight models in various settings. The nudity was either far away or profile or hidden but they existed. Ask some ajosshi dude in his 40s and you'll get the scoop. They are long gone now. These were also the days when Tabang girls brought tea to wherever you might be. Again...long gone.

I remember seeing the racks of the girlie mags here back in the day (which I of course thumbed through in the store purely for research purposes and not because I'm some kind of perv or anything). Thinking back I'd give them a quarter-woody rating, and that's if you were hard-up and hadn't had any in eons. Actually, that's being generous.

They (the mags)were like "Hey, here are chicks - now go to a room salon or a rubhouse and get your groove on - you know you want to, sailor".

I personally do not approve of them and am happy they have been abolished.

Also, can they do something about the motel room cable porn because it's fucking awful and definitely not up to international standards.
