If you have an F visa, do you have to provide a Korean background check or one from your home country?
Is this something the school decides or is there some kind of mandatory background check requirement for each visa type?
I've been working for the same school for over 10 years and thought I'd test the market, however, when I could start at a new job would completely depend on which background check is required, as I'm sure a US background check would take some time.
Thanks in advance... |

IF.....
If you stay in the same jurisdiction AND have not been out of Korea for more than 90 days then you don't need a new background check (caveat: assumes you already are properly registered and had/have one on file at immigration or the local education office).
If you have been out of Korea for more than 90 days then you need a new one from home.
If you change jurisdiction (different education office) then you will probably need a new one from home.
* employers can require a new one as a condition of employment even if the education office doesn't ask for one. Get one or don't get hired. |
