I have been offered a job at Youngseon middle school in Jeollabukdo. Have any of you ever worked there? Do you know of anyone who has? What was the experience of working there like? I haven't found any information yet, and would like to know, just to make sure that it's okay. The school is a private elementary, NOT a hagwon. |

Just a point of correction: in South Korea, elementary schools are for grades one through six, middle schools are for grades seven through nine, and high schools are for grades ten through twelve. Korean teachers are certified for either elementary schools or they are certified for middle and high schools.
The schools are also divided by gender as follows:
- Elementary schools: co-educational.
- Girls' Middle Schools and Girls' High Schools: Only female students.
- Middle Schools and High Schools: Either male students only or co-educational. I don't remember seeing any boys' schools specifically labeled as such in the school names.
Here is Yeongseon Middle School's homepage. The school is co-educational. |
